Myself and my heterosexual life partner Ricky Ropesack just put out a brand new EP under our moniker of Meat Number 5. See the previous post for details and for promo vid, and grap the EP for free HERE.
Friday we are throwing a release party with the help of our friends DJ Trew and Groundlift Media at Subterranean. Peep the flyer for all the details, hope to see you out!

So I posted this in the VIDEO section of the site last week but forgot to make a post about it. This video basically myself and the two dopest DJs in the Chi, DJ Trentino and Boi Jeanius. Jeanius does a weekly Ustream show and he invited myself and Trentino to come do our thang on 4 decks. The first hour or so is music from our weekly Pop Rocks and Coke party at Angels and Kings, and then we go off into some other ish. Electro, house, dubstep, crunk, and everything in between. Enjoy!
So as you may or may not have heard, every Thursday myself and DJ Trentino throw a crazy party at Angels & Kings in downtown Chi. The party is called Pop Rocks and Coke, and we play nothing but the biggest pop music of all time. Whether corny, dumb, cheesy, or super dope, we play it all, from all eras. Wanna hear Kenny Rogers mixed with Cali Swag District? U2 with Beyonce? Gary Glitter and Mike Posner? We got you.
But here’s what’s REALLY dope about this party. We mix all this ish on 4 turntables and 3 mixers. Live. On Stage. We juggle, mix, scratch, and blend better than anyone else. Thats real talk, as they say.
Intrigued? Peep the vid below and see for yourself.
Pop Rocks and Coke goes down every Thursday at Angels & Kings, 710 N. Clark St in Chicago. Presented by The Music Trust. Gucci.

I’ve spent the better part of two days doing nothing but acquiring new music. I’m talking about going through two months worth of dj service updates, blogs, and emails. It was a tedious but very rewarding task, and I reminded myself why I usually stay on top of this kinda shit. I technically already posted my July Top Ten, but here are a few more joints I’m really feeling.
(Friendly reminder… peep my July and August gigs here and download my new live mix here)

Veoba has been doin their thang lately. From online advertising to marketing to merch to distribution, Dick can do it all. Veoba is also known for the parties they throw all over the country. I was lucky enough to play their first website pre-launch party with the dude Kid Static, and now I’m back for round 2. Streets on Fire and Ssssnake, plus myself and DJ Abducted on the wheels. This will be dumb fun.

The rumors are true. Last Friday was my last weekly at Tonic Room… because I will now be holdin it down every Friday at ROOF at the Wit! Most definitely excited for this new opportunity, can’t wait to get it crackin this weekend. ROOF now boasts the most impressive DJ lineup in the city as far as I’m concerned, with White Shadow every Wednesday, myself on Fridays, and tons of dope DJs on Saturdays and Sundays. The Music Trust is doin it huge, and I’m happy to be a part of it.
I also wanted to shout out Nic, Izzo, Rob, and everyone over at Tonic Room. The past year has been an absolute blast DJing there every weekend, but its time for a change. And fear not Tonic patrons, my man Deejay Pickel will be now holding down every Friday starting next week.
Please check my calendar for all my upcoming dates here and follow me on Twitter here. As always, thank you for your continued support.
