Just found out today that PUSH It Real Good is the featured mix over at http://chicagodjtalk.blogspot.com! For those that don’t know, that site is run by the legendary Jesse De La Pena, one of the most influential DJs in Chicago history. To say I’m honored that he likes the mix would be a complete understatement. If you haven’t downloaded the mix yet, do so here.

Pop Rocks and Coke!

So I’m not even gonna write any kind of synopsis for this party, because its so dope I don’t feel up to the task of trying to describe its awesomeness. I’ll just say that its Dante The Don, White Shadow, Trentino, and myself. On 4 turntables. Nothing but the corniest pop music of all time. $4 Vodka cocktails and 99 cent Lemon Drop Shots. Presented by The Music Trust. So there.

RSVP.

5 more bangers for July

I’ve spent the better part of two days doing nothing but acquiring new music. I’m talking about going through two months worth of dj service updates, blogs, and emails. It was a tedious but very rewarding task, and I reminded myself why I usually stay on top of this kinda shit. I technically already posted my July Top Ten, but here are a few more joints I’m really feeling.

(Friendly reminder… peep my July and August gigs here and download my new live mix here)

A Good Day Under the Bridge

My DJ idol, frequent collaborator, and bff Kid Cut Up is a machine. This man works harder than anyone I’ve ever met (I’d like to consider myself a close second) and he is truly one of the illest DJs on the planet. His skills are top-notch, and his ideas are always cutting-edge. One of my favorite routines of his is called “A Good Day Under the Bridge”, where he blends Ice Cube’s “Good Day” with Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Under the Bridge”. The routine has been slaying live for the better part of a year, so the next logical step was to give it a video treatment. He and Darren Cole of Alphabang Productions teamed up to make said video, and it has been getting CRAZY love all over the intertron. I couldn’t be happier for the both of them. Here it is in all its glory….
