Yeah yeah, I know I’ve been slackin hardcore with the updates. But I got some HUGE news today, I’m officially entered in the 2011 Red Bull Thre3style battle April 28th at The Mid! Lineup just announced today. Peep this link below for all the info. Excited for this.
As many of you know, the true Godfather of hip hop, Kool Herc, is suffering from illness and lack of health insurance. First reported by the great DJ Premier on his blog, there has been a strong online campaign to take up collections to help this man with his medical bills. There have been a couple fundraisers across the country, notably in NYC, LA, and SF, and tonight DJ Intel and myself are throwing the Chicago edition at Butterfly Social Club. We got basically every dope DJ in Chicago to come rock it, strictly on vinyl, to benefit the man who in one way or another impacted our lives for the better. After Butterfly, we will heading over to Empire Liquors where my brother Rude 1 will be rocking with special guest D-Styles. Collections will be taken there as well. Veoba has been doin their thang lately. From online advertising to marketing to merch to distribution, Dick can do it all. Veoba is also known for the parties they throw all over the country. I was lucky enough to play their first website pre-launch party with the dude Kid Static, and now I’m back for round 2. Streets on Fire and Ssssnake, plus myself and DJ Abducted on the wheels. This will be dumb fun.
Oh yes. Tomorrow night I make my debut at ROOF at the Wit. If you don’t know, get familiar. I’ll be on the decks from 9-3, and it will be beautiful outside.

Mid-May means only one thing around these parts… Birthday time. Myself and former bandmate/current Dirty Social selector DJ Intel have born days one day apart, and we have made it a bit of a tradition to have at least one blowout party each year. Last year the party was at Butterfly Social Club. I got housed and slept in the back of my friend’s car that night, and my last memory of the night is going up to DJ at midnight. Good times. This year we return to Butterfly for round 2, with fellow Taurus Johnny Fonseca and Merk1 joining us on the decks. Not gonna front… I’m scared.

Awww yeah. For those that don’t know, my homies Tim Zawada and Xander have been running a great bi-weekly party over the past few months called SoSoDisco. I played one of their first parties last year and it was crazy fun. They recently moved the night from Between Lounge to Lokal, and Saturday is the official re-launch party. Xander, Tim, and David Drake are all crazy disco aficionados, so its cool I get to rock with them and put my hip-hoppy spin on some disco, house and funk jams. We would LOVE to see you out Saturday to come celebrate with us. Oh yeah, more HUGE shows being announced soon.
